Questions about the price
How do I pay, and when?
When the work is finished and you have seen it, by cash or bank transfer. There is no deposit, nothing is taken up front, and nothing is charged if we cannot get in. The number you were quoted is the number you pay: no VAT, no call out fee, and the minimum on a visit with no oven in it is £65.
Why is a double oven more than a single?
There are two cavities, two doors and two sets of door glass to take apart and put back, so it is about half as long again on the day. That is the difference between £70 and £85. A grill in its own compartment counts as a double, even where the oven below it is a single.
Do you charge more if the oven is really dirty?
No. The appliance sets the price, not the state of it. A neglected oven takes us longer and that is our problem, not yours. The only thing that changes a quote is an appliance you did not mention when you asked.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes, £65. One small item on its own does not cover the visit, so if the job comes to less than £65 then £65 is what it costs. Alongside an oven clean the cheaper add on price applies and the minimum never comes into it.
Are your oven cleaning prices the same in every village?
Yes. The price list is the same in Ely, Soham, Newmarket and every village in between. Travel is free within 12 miles of Burwell, and past that ring it is a flat £10 which we tell you before you book, not after.
Can you give me a price without seeing the oven?
Yes, and we do it that way for almost every job. Tell us the make and whether it is a single, a double, a range or an AGA, and you get the real number back. Photos only help for three and four door AGAs and anything wider than 90cm, where the size decides the price.
